Thread Name: FR: Changing the Player Sprite at the Beginning of the Game? HOW?

Hello everyone!

I am fairly new to Pokemon Rom Hacking and I think I got a good starting knowledge about many things already, including how to change Pokemon and Trainer Sprites.

However, there is one problem I have which I haven't been able to figure out on my own so I am turning to you, the community in search for help.

Using unlzGBA and NSE I know how to find trainer sprites and alter them. However what I am not able to find are the sprites for the players upon player selection ("are you a boy or a girl?") and the sprite for the rival. I want to have new male and female player sprites which are seen at the start of the game when you choose your gender as well as a new rival sprite (in my hack, the rival should be female). I hope you get what my problem is. I can't find the starting player selection sprites neither in unlzGBA nor in Namelsess Sprite Editor.

Please if anyone could tell me how this can be done (and I hope it is possible... it must be possible somehow i guess!) I would be most grateful!
